Urgent Need: 1 in 2 U.S. Families Face Diaper Need

A new study by the National Diaper Bank Network shows that nearly half – 47% – of U.S. families with young children struggle to afford enough diapers to keep their children clean, dry and healthy. Diaper need is a public health crisis, and unfortunately these findings come as no surprise to ShareBaby. A study of families who received diapers July 2021 through April 2022 from ShareBaby examined the impact of diaper need locally. 89% of families receiving diapers from ShareBaby are working and still unable to purchase an adequate supply of diapers.

ShareBaby is working diligently to lessen diaper need in Baltimore. In the first half of this year, ShareBaby distributed 1,051,875 diapers to children in Baltimore City.
